Creating Classrooms of Care: Inclusive Education in Focus
On June 23, 2025, educators from KG 1 to Grade 12 joined a powerful session on Inclusive Education led by Kejal (Special Educator) and Lakshmi (Sensory Integration Therapist) from I Rise. The session emphasized embracing every learner’s unique journey through empathy, multi-modal strategies, and whole-child engagement. Teachers shared moving stories, reinforcing that inclusive classrooms foster belonging, not just learning. The message was clear: inclusion is a mindset, not a method.
Down Syndrome Day
Embracing Differences: A Heartfelt Awareness Program on Down Syndrome
At DPS Monarch, we believe that understanding and inclusion begin at an early age. Our Special Needs Department Head, Ms. Thamarai Selvi, led a powerful awareness session on Down syndrome for students from KG1 to Grade 4.
Through engaging bilateral activities, rhythmic clapping exercises, and the calming resonance of singing bowls, students learned about empathy, acceptance, and the uniqueness of every individual.
A heartfelt thank you to our young Monarchians for their warmth, curiosity, and compassion. Your open hearts and kind spirits are paving the way for a more inclusive tomorrow.
Let’s continue to celebrate differences and build a world where everyone belongs.
International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Disability is not a hindrance; it’s an opportunity to prove how strong the human spirit can be.” This powerful message set the tone for an inspiring workshop conducted at our school to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The workshop, led by Ms. Thamarai, the school’s special needs educator, focused on promoting awareness, inclusivity, and empowerment for individuals with disabilities. The session was a walk-through of many different learning moments. Ms. Thamarai guided the audience through various sensory experiences, offering students a glimpse into the minds of children with disabilities. These activities provided a profound understanding of conditions such as ADHD and rare neurological disorders, emphasizing the universal need to normalize and accept special needs. In her presentation, Ms. Thamarai also highlighted Qatar’s inclusive initiatives, including accessible public parks, airports, and accommodations made during FIFA events, showcasing how these efforts align with the nation’s vision for inclusivity.
