An online Tamil Continuing Professional Development (CPD) session took place on August 27th, 2025, facilitated by Ms. Saraswathy, a Tamil educator from Velamal Education Network in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The session welcomed participants from our Tamil department, including teachers Ms. Meena and Ms. Bagavathi, along with Head of Department Ms. Punitha. Ms. Saraswathy delivered a comprehensive presentation on “Effective Strategies for Teaching Tamil.”
The workshop proved both engaging and enriching for all teachers, as the facilitator shared numerous methodologies to enhance teaching effectiveness. A standout feature of the session was her strong advocacy for integrating play-based learning activities into Tamil instruction. This pedagogical approach was particularly motivating, demonstrating how incorporating enjoyment and innovative thinking can substantially enhance student participation and academic achievement.
The session concluded with professional learning experience, providing fresh insights and practical strategies that participants can readily apply in their Tamil language teaching practice.
