As part of the ongoing CPD sessions at DPS Monarch International School, the Vice Principal Secondary, Ms. Madhu Uppal conducted dynamic and an interactive workshop on 28th August 2025 with our secondary school faculty on Differentiated Instruction and the integration of Al tools to make learning more inclusive and impactful by introducing effective unique strategies.

The session focused on: Practical strategies to consciously implement differentiation in everyday teaching, Al-powered tools to design lessons that adapt to varied learner needs, Interactive activities and icebreakers that highlighted diverse learning preferences.

Under Strategic Framework Implementation, The R.A.F.T Strategy (Role, Audience, Format, Topic) was introduced as an innovative framework enabling students to showcase comprehensive understanding while fostering creative expression.

The teachers  gained comprehensive insight and  a clear understanding about the Four Areas of Differentiation:1. Content: What students learn, 2. Process: How students learn, 3. Product: What students demonstrate learning Methods for processing new information, 4. Environment: the conditions for learning like the classroom set up etc.

With Collaborative Differentiation Activity, the workshop featured a hands-on learning simulation where each participant received a card with a specific learning preference statement, and  formed groups based on matching card colors/statements. The Groups spent 2-5 minutes developing teaching methods for their assigned learning style followed by presentations to the entire workshop group, celebrating innovative and creative solutions. The workshop covered eight distinct learning preferences, representing a comprehensive spectrum of student needs: Kinesthetic Learning Preferences:

  • “I learn best by doing” – Emphasizing hands-on, experiential learning
  • “I learn best when I move around” – Incorporating physical movement and activity

Visual and Interactive Learning:

  • “I like visuals” – Utilizing graphic organizers, charts, and visual aids
  • “I like learning with games” – Gamification and interactive educational activities

Social and Collaborative Learning:

  • “I prefer group work” – Cooperative learning and peer collaboration
  • “I like to explain ideas to others” – Peer teaching and student-led instruction

Technology and Narrative-Based Learning:

  • “I enjoy technology-based learning” – Digital tools and educational technology integration
  • “I like storytelling as a learning method” – Narrative-driven instruction and storytelling techniques

The session introduced Al-powered tools to design lessons that adapt to varied learner needs like NotebookLM: AI audio and video summary, Curipod which is differentiated Quizzes and interactive Activities, MagicSchool AI, Tools for ongoing Assessment  and for Assessment vs learning.

The comprehensive coverage of learning preferences, from kinesthetic to technology-based learning, ensures teachers are better equipped to meet the varied needs of all students in their classrooms.

The session was very interactive as it involved the enthusiasm and collaboration of our educators, whose passion for creating learner-centered classrooms shone throughout the session.

The session reflected a collective commitment to ensure every learner is involved in personalized learning, engaging and supporting student meaningfully. The enthusiasm and collaboration of our educators made this session a true success!

The session successfully achieved its objective of “Together, we are moving closer to classrooms where every child is valued, supported, and challenged.”
