International Literacy Day
International Literacy Day is observed every year on 8th September to emphasize the importance of reading and writing in shaping a better future.
To mark this occasion, the school library celebrated the day with great enthusiasm and purpose. The primary goal was to instill a love for reading and highlight the role of literacy in students’ academic and personal growth.
A variety of engaging activities were organized across different grade levels to encourage creativity and a deeper connection with books:
• 📖 Library Reading Circle: Students participated in group and buddy reading sessions, sharing stories and enjoying the joy of reading together.
• 🎤 Tales Time: Selected students narrated captivating stories, bringing them to life for their peers in an interactive and engaging manner.
• 📝 Book Review Cards: Students wrote brief reviews of their favorite books, sharing insights and personal takeaways.
• 🎨 Literacy Poster Design: Vibrant and creative posters were designed by students to promote the value and importance of literacy.
The celebration created a happy and fun atmosphere in the library. 📚 It reminded everyone that reading helps us learn new things and also brings people and ideas together.
The day was meaningful and showed that reading and writing are important skills for life.
