Creating Classrooms of Care: Inclusive Education Takes Center Stage
“Education is not one-size-fits-all; it’s about embracing every child’s unique journey.”
June 23, 2025 – An inspiring awareness session on Inclusive Education was conducted by Ms. Kejal Bakshi (Special Educator) and Ms. Lakshmi Sudhakaran (Sensory Integration Therapist, I Rise) for the teachers of KG 1 to Grade 12.
The session illuminated the vital role of inclusivity in classrooms, emphasizing strategies to support children with diverse learning needs.
💬 Teachers shared heartfelt experiences, highlighting the importance of sensitivity. One touching anecdote recounted a teacher’s gentle approach in addressing a child’s difficulties without making them feel singled out, fostering a sense of security and belonging.
🧠 Kejal and Lakshmi underscored that education is not just for the mind but for the whole child — engaging their senses, emotions, and physicality. They encouraged educators to adopt multi-modal teaching methods incorporating visual, auditory, and kinesthetic activities.
🌱 The session concluded with a powerful message: inclusive education is a continuous journey requiring collaboration, empathy, and innovation. Teachers are not just imparting knowledge; they are shaping compassionate, resilient learners.
